Anaconda Mining recognized for workplace excellence

BAIE VERTE, NL — Anaconda Mining Inc. has received the 2017 Business Achievement Award for Workplace Excellence from the St. John’s Board of Trade.

The award was recently presented at the annual Business Excellence Awards ceremony.

Dustin Angelo, president and chief executive officer, thanked the organization on behalf of the workforce.

“Our employees are the lifeblood of our organization and we strive to support and empower them to be the best they can be,” he stated in a press release.
“We have worked hard at developing our workforce, attracting the right people and building a strong corporate culture. This award is validation of our efforts and we appreciate the recognition.”

The Workplace Excellence Award recognizes a company that puts its employees first. The award recipient excels at staff development and is focused on the well-being of its team members and follows fair employment practices.

Anaconda is a TSX-listed gold mining, exploration and development company on the Baie Verte Peninsula. According to information read at the presentation, the company attributes its success to commitment to core values including safety, responsibility and resourcefulness.

Anaconda is focused in the Atlantic Canadian jurisdictions of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. The company operates the Point Rousse Project located in the Baie Verte mining district, comprised of the Pine Cove open pit mine, the fully-permitted Pine Cove Mill and tailings facility, the Stog’er Tight deposit, a new discovery called Argyle, and about 5,800 hectares of prospective gold-bearing property.
It is also developing the recently acquired Goldboro Project in Nova Scotia, a high-grade Mineral Resource, with the potential to leverage existing infrastructure at the Company’s Point Rousse Project.

The company also has other growth opportunities, including the Viking and Great Northern Projects on the Northern Peninsula and the Tilt Cove Property on the Baie Verte Peninsula.
