• There are about 2,800 convenience stores in Atlantic Canada.
• Total sales are about $5.3-billion.
• Atlantic Canada’s convenience industry employs about 26,000 individuals full- and part-time.
• A convenience store is defined by its local area and primarily exists to serve it local neighbourhood...the convenience store is a valued service in many communities throughout Atlantic Canada, and an important part of the “community fabric.”
• For many newcomers to Atlantic Canada, the convenience industry is an opportunity to own a business and to be an integral part of the communities where owners, and their families, live.
