The seventh annual From this Rock Culinary Tour will see a team of chefs span out to nine communities across the province on Thursday.

Organized by the Restaurant Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (RANL), the chefs will create multi-course meals, incorporating local agriculture and seafood products as a means of increasing awareness of the industries.

Since its start, the tour has become a partnership between farmers, fish processors, food producers, chefs and restaurants.

The 2016 tour included 12 stops with more than 20 chefs preparing and serving over 6,100 plates of local food.

The participating communities this year are Port aux Basques, Stephenville, Corner Brook, Deer Lake, Rocky Harbour, Grand Falls-Windsor, Twillingate, Carbonear and Harbour Grace.

A grand finale of the tour will be held in St. John’s at Spirit of Newfoundland on Nov. 3.

More information about the locations can be found on the restaurant association’s website.
