Premier Dwight Ball will be on hand for the annual Placentia Bay Industry Showcase in Placentia next week.

The event, hosted by the Placentia Area Chamber of Commerce, will take place from Sept. 18-20 at Unity Parc Arena.

Ball will kick off the conference and trade show at 9 a.m. on Sept. 19.

The theme of this year’s event is “Seize the Opportunity.”

“We are at a turning point in our region,” Chamber president Karen Maher said in a release.

“We see the potential for the Placentia Bay area as being limitless, and this event will certainly fuel the momentum we are building in oil and gas, aquaculture, mining, tourism, entrepreneurism, and research and development, locally and around the globe.”

The showcase will begin on Sept. 18 with a guided coach tour of the Port of Argentia, followed by an American-style barbecue at the Marine Atlantic terminal, according to the release.

Another highlight of the event, the Business Excellence Awards, will be presented on the evening of Sept. 19.
