The purpose of the trenching is to expand the understanding of the structure and geology of the deposits.
These two deposits are named the 41 and 51 deposits. The results of the 41 deposit trenching are pending.
Stephen Stares, president and director of Benton Resources, said there is a fairly large camp on site, which is being used by Nordmin, a company that approached Benton with the proposition of a partnership.
Nordmin will bring the project to where it becomes profitable with a mine as well as determine what type of money will be made, the cost associated, the environmental assessments and the applications to the government.
Stares said the project is becoming exciting.

The project
The Cape Ray Property is comprised of 387 claims totalling 9675 hectares, located in south western Newfoundland along the Cape Ray fault.
The property is located about 10 kilometres north of the town of Port aux Basques, at the southernmost point and continues in a northeast and easterly direction for about 60 kilometres.
Access to the property is by bush road, float plane or
helicopter. A series of registered ATV trails allow access to the majority of the claims.
Benton Resources signed an option agreement with
Nordmin Engineering to advance towards production, four of the six gold deposits at Cape Ray, should the economic viability of the project be determined.
The deposits named 04, 41, 51 and Windowglass Hill are
included in the option while the Isle aux Morts and Big Pond deposits will be retained 100 per cent by Benton Resources.
