Environment minister seeking input on Gander Microbrewery

GANDER, NL-The proposed Gander Microbrewery project has gone to the environmental assessment process.

The Proponent, Scudrunner Brewing Limited, submitted a proposal to open a microbrewery in a standalone building at 131 Roe Avenue in Gander.

The microbrewery will produce 10 hectolitres (approximately

nine barrels) per batch with approximately six brew days per

month, according to a press release from the Department of

Municipal Affairs and Environment

The facility will include an on-site tap room for customers to sample the product. 

Production is scheduled to begin during the summer of 2017.

The undertaking was registered on June 2; the deadline for public comments is July 10; and the Minister Eddie Joyce’s decision is due by July 17.

The press release also noted that a Glovertown Cranberry Farm registration was withdrawn by proponent Mega Healthy Cranberry Farm
