Updates on the local operations of ExxonMobil and Chevron are on tap for the third and final day of Noia’s annual oil and gas conference in St. John’s.

Lead contractors on the Hebron offshore oil project are also scheduled to address the gathering at the city’s Convention Centre.

Members of the local media were given a tour of Nalcor Energy’s Bull Arm Fabrication Site and briefing on the Hebron construction on Monday. That is where two large pieces of the overall gravity based structure are under construction.

However, today’s presentations at Noia — one by Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors’ Hebron lead Astor Nyborg and one by WorleyParsons’ project lead Neil Robertson — will get into further details on progress on the individual topsides and platform base.

Later in the morning, a senior managing consultant with Wood Mackenzie, Richard Tilley, will be tieing together some of the pieces of previous presentations in discussing “Newfoundland exploration in a global context.”

The conference is set to close out with an address from Statoil’s senior vice-president of exploration for North America, Erik Finnstrom, who will no doubt speak to Statoil’s discovery of oil in the Flemish Pass Basin offshore.
