Just days after the C-NLOPB ordered a suspension of all oil production aboard the SeaRose FPSO in relation to a near-miss with an iceberg last March, Husky Energy has made a change in its Atlantic Canada leadership.
Malcolm Maclean was replaced as senior vice president in charge of the region, a position he’s held since 2012, in favour of Trevor Pritchard.
Pritchard had been serving as the company’s VP of process and occupational safety, before which he was Husky’s general manager of operations in Atlantic Canada.
When contacted about the change, Mel Duval, Husky’s manager of media and issues, said it is company policy not to discuss personnel changes.
Before joining Husky, Pritchard, a native of Scotland with an extensive background in work aboard floating, production, storage and offloading vessels, worked for BP Shipping, Northern Marine, and Bluewater Services.
Maclean, also a Scotsman, has been with Husky since 2011. Prior to which he was employed with Petrofac, and spent a decade with the Hess Corporation serving in executive positions in South East Asia and Algeria.
The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board issued the suspension order based on concerns with Husky’s ice management plan, and those responsible for ensuring it’s followed.
