The Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industry Association (NEIA) and Memorial Genesis Centre have entered into a partnership to deliver entrepreneurial programming in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The partnership will include enabling access to programs and resources, such as mentors and networks, as well as some shared marketing activities.

“The recent focus on clean technology from governments and their agencies has created a new public awareness about the importance of achieving better environmental outcomes in business,” Kieran Hanley, NEIA executive director, said in a news release Thursday.

“We believe that this will contribute to a new interest from entrepreneurs and result in the emergence of more clean technology startups.”
The Genesis Centre is Memorial University’s innovation hub for technology startups. This partnership only enhances the focus for the centre.

“NEIA and the Genesis Centre look forward to continuing to work together, as we strive to embody our shared values of entrepreneurship, innovation and economic development in the province, as well as making meaningful strides towards environmental sustainability and a strong, clean tech sector,” Michelle Simms, president and CEO, Genesis Centre said in the release.
