Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation Minister Christopher Mitchelmore and Mark Browne, his parliamentary secretary, are visiting several small businesses as part of Small Business Week, which started on Sunday.

Nearly 40 per cent of the workforce in Newfoundland and Labrador are employed by small to medium-sized businesses.

Michelmore appluded small business owners in the province and the role they play in the economy.

"Our government is proud to support and encourage small business owners in all areas of our province,” he said in a news release.

“Their dedication, commitment and enthusiasm are crucial to the economic success of their communities, as well as the growth and prosperity of our province.”
