SYDNEY, N.S. — The former Schwartz Furniture store building at 325 Vulcan Ave. in Sydney is being torn down this week.

In recent years it was also the home of a women's gym, a call centre and the Sydney flea market.

Westco Sydney Inc., owned by U.S.-based retail property acquisition firm Westmoreland Company, bought the property from the Schwartz family in July. What will become of the property hasn't been disclosed publicly at this time.

Westmoreland Company has yet to respond to a request for comment.
