ST. ANTHONY, N.L. — St. Anthony Basin Resources Inc. (SABRI) has received a prestigious honour for its work in economic development.
The non-profit social enterprise recently won the Economic Development Association of NL (EDANL)'s Economic Development Award of Excellence for community projects with communities under 3,000 people.
Sam Elliott, the executive director of SABRI, was in attendance to accept the award on behalf of the organization at the ceremony in Deer Lake.
Elliott expressed his gratitude to town council of St. Anthony for nominating SABRI for the award as well as the selection committee of EDANL for recognizing the contribution SABRI has made to community development in the region.
SABRI is a non-profit social enterprise that administers an allocation of northern shrimp on behalf of communities from Big Brook to Goose Cove.
SABRI is involved in a number of projects to facilitate the expansion of the region’s economic base and improve employment opportunities.
