Pre-teen dance
The Botwood Lions Club will be having a pre-teen dance on Friday, March 16 from  7-9 p.m. Music by DJ Sean and admission is FREE.
Volunteer of the Year
The Town of Peterview is accepting nominations for the volunteer of the year for 2018. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, April 10. Nominations can be dropped off at the town office or mailed to Box 10, Peterview NL, A0H 1Y0.
Moose burger sale
The Botwood Mural Arts Society is having a moose burger sale on March 27 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Botwood Fire Hall on Circular Road and continuing until all 300 burgers are sold. Cost is $3 per burger.
Peterview Fire Department fundraiser

The Peterview Fire Department is having a winter TV raffle on a 55-inch UHD TV. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5. To purchase tickets please contact members of the fire department.
Story Time
The Botwood Kinsmen Public Library’s story time program runs until March 28 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for children age three to five. Please visit your library to register your child.

Red Cross ice warnings
Ice travel on ponds, brooks and coastal areas is not recommended. The Coast Guard is preparing a visit to Botwood and Lewisporte harbors which will leave breaks in the ice making it unsafe to travel.

Chace the Ace lottery
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5, Botwood, on Wednesdays from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Tickets are three for $5. Draw held at 9 p.m. There is a 50/50 draw each night. Tickets are sold at the Legion. Must be 19 years of age to attend.
Fire Department reminders
The local fire department advises cleaning chimneys and checking for creosote buildup and checking smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector batteries.
Kinsmen TV Bingo
Botwood Kinsmen Club TV Bingo is on Rogers channel 9 on Mondays at 7 p.m. Cards available in Botwood, Bishop Falls and GFW area stores.

Botwood 50-Plus club
Botwood 50-Plus Club is inviting new members. We are a social club that meets every Friday at 8p.m. We play cards and darts and have a light lunch. Our yearly registration fee is $10. For further information call any member or Gloria Young 257-3217(Club PRO).
Botwood Lions Club

Peterview Fire Department
Residents of Peterview, 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license interested in becoming a fire fighter for the Town of Peterview can contact the town hall for more information. 
Northern Arm Fire Department
Residents of Northern Arm,18 years or older with a valid driver’s license interested in becoming a fire fighter for the Town of Northern Arm can contact Fire Chief Melinda Freake or town office for more information. 
Numbers for addresses
Emergency services such as police, ambulances and the fire department remind residents to ensure house numbers are visible from the road in case of emergency.
Fire department training
On Wednesday nights the Botwood Fire Department will be using fire hydrants during training. Residents may notice low water pressure and/or loss of water during this time or shortly after. The town and fire department apologize for any inconvenience this may cause residents.
Recycling depot
The Botwood Recycling Depot accepts old household paints and electronics such as computers and TVs. These items can be deposited at no cost. Remember to recycle beverage containers – several organizations have accounts where you can donate containers. Let’s all help keep our environment clean.
Kinsmen meeting
Are you interested in joining the Kinsmen club of Botwood? Meetings are on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Contact a member and come along to a meeting.
