GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, NL – It was a weekend of fun and winter festivities despite the less-than-ideal snow conditions of late.
“Last year we had to dig out snow so people had places to sit,” Elmo Hewlett, president of the Corduroy Brook Enhancement Association, said Feb. 17 at Gibson’s Field. “This year we had to dig snow to make sliding hills.”
About 120 people had turned out to Gibson’s Field by around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, but many more were expected throughout the course of the day. Similarly, other events in town saw good participation despite the lack of snow this year.
