GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. —

In recognition of Pi Day at Exploits Valley Intermediate, Grade 7 students were challenged recently to memorize the first 100 digits of the number.

Many students attempted to recite the digits in front of their classmates and just three were successful in meeting the challenge. Their prize was throwing a pie in a teacher’s face.

Although the challenge was initiated by both Krista Simms and Thomas Caines, the students took it easy on Simms and all three pied Caines, who was a great sport.
