River Gold Fundraising is a community fundraiser in partnership with three local service organizations: Corduroy Brook Enhancement Association, Exploits Valley SPCA, Grand Falls-Windsor Heritage Society. We run a weekly event with the deadline for playing being closing time on Wednesdays at store locations. Draw is every Thursday at the Royal Bank in the Exploits Valley Mall at approximately 7:30 pm to

Wishmaker Walk 

Sunday, Nov. 19 Registration at 2 p.m., with the walk commencing at 2:30 p.m. from Forest Park Primary. This year’s theme is Wish Heroes. We invite all participants to come out dressed as their favorite super hero or every-day hero and enjoy a fun-filled day while raising money to help grant wishes.

Chase the Ace 

Chase the Ace lottery is held at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall every Sunday from 7:15-9:15 p.m.  

Bridge Game 

The Exploits Valley 50+ Club, Edwards Place, has resumed its public bridge game on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. Admission $4. Everyone welcome. 


Fall sale 

The Salvation Army Home League Park Street, Grand Falls-Windsor is having a fall sale of baked goods, grab bags and white elephant Christmas sale on Monday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. Admission is $3. For more information call Vera Hayward 489-2110 or Elsie Janes 489-4921 

Exploits Disability Association  

We help people with disabilities and other who cannot help themselves. Meetings take place on the first Monday of every month at the Corduroy brook enhancement building on 2 Conservation Place.

Central Cancer Survivors Choir 

Practice 2 p.m. on Tuesdays at Memorial United Church in Grand Falls-Windsor. If you are a cancer survivor and enjoy singing, laughter, fellowship and the support of others who have had a diagnosis of cancer, please join us.  

St. Joseph’s Parish 

St. Vincent De Paul Shop at St. Joseph’s Parish open every Tuesday from 1-4 p.m. 

Status of Women Central AGM 

Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 7p.m. on 5B Bayley Street. Everyone is welcome.  

Story time at Harmsworth Public Library 

The library will hold a regular pre-school story time program for children aged 3 -5 every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. To register your child, drop by or call the library: 489-2303. 

Diabetes Education Clinic 

The Diabetes Education Clinic offers a drop-in service on Wednesdays between 1-4 p.m. Have your blood sugar, blood pressure and weight checked. Bring your diabetes-related questions to the nurse and dietitian. Come back and get on track. No appointment necessary. 

Youth Alpha for Ages 11-14 

Join us each Wednesday, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at E.M. Bishop Hall, Holy Trinity Anglican Church, for fun, food, games, music and teaching presentations about the Christian faith. Exploits 50 + Club Card Game 

The Exploits 50+ Club, Edwards Place, holds a public card game every Wednesday at 8 p.m. Admission is $4. Everyone welcome. 


Rotary Club  

If you’re looking for a great organization that helps both locally and internationally, look no further than the Rotary Club. Find a friendly Rotarian and ask them about joining – we’d love to have you on board! We meet every Thursday 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Mount Peyton Hotel. 

Antique Autos 

The Central Nfld Antique Auto Club meets every third Thursday of the month at 8 p.m. at Ibex Fuels on Hardy Avenue or the Creed Club in Botwood. For more info contact Bruce Critch at 257-3360. Check out their website at Having an antique auto is not mandatory.

Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony 

Saturday, Nov. 11 the parade will form up at Beaumont Hamel Armory at 10:15a.m. and move to the Cenotaph to start the ceremony at 11a.m. 

St. Andrews Anglican Church Fall Sale 

The St. Andrews Anglican Church in Bishop’s Falls will host its fall sale and tea on Saturday, Nov. 18, starting at 11a.m. Admission is $3 

Fall Sale and Morning Tea 

Saturday, Nov. 25 at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Beaumont Avenue starting at 10a.m.  

50-Plus Club 

The Senior's Friendly 50-Plus Club at 50 Main St., Grand Falls-Windsor holds card games on Thursday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m.
