CLARENVILLE, N.L. — This year, leading up to Nov. 11, a grandfather and granddaughter worked together to help promote Remembrance.
Joseph Leblanc, who turns 94 years old this month, and his youngest granddaughter 17-year-old Reta Leblanc distributed poppies together.
While there is about three quarters of a century difference in their ages, they worked together selling the poppies at a store in Clarenville.
Joseph lives in Brooklyn and has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #37 in Charleston for the past 50 years.
Reta, who lives in Winterbrook, is a student at Heritage Collegiate. She has been a member of the Clode Sound Sea Cadets for five years and currently holds the rank of Petty Officer 1 (PO1).
