CLARENVILLE, NL— The bail hearing for a man charged with uttering a threat against Riverside Elementary earlier this week has been rescheduled until March 29.

Gordon Wheaton, 45, was charged early Tuesday morning, March 16, and later released on conditions that same day.

He was arrested that night after allegedly breaking one of the conditions of release, a prohibition on possessing, consuming or trafficking in illegal drugs.

A new charge of failing to keep the peace and be of good behavior has since been laid. Wheaton also faces another charge of allegedly uttering threats against a woman in Marystown.

Wheaton has agreed to remain in custody.
