GANDER, NL – Police in Gander are investigating the sudden death of a 14-year-old girl Feb. 6.
A release issued by the RCMP Feb. 9 stated several investigators have been assigned to the case and will be conducting interviews in the area.
“These investigations turn into quite far-reaching endeavours,” Sgt. Chris Dawe told the Beacon, noting officers will follow where their inquiries lead them.
The release referenced social media posts about the situation and encouraged anyone with information related to the case to contact police directly.
The Telegram reported on Feb. 8 that a crisis team had been sent to a school in Gander to help support students and staff there in the wake of the tragedy, including guidance and educational psychologist supports.
