During its AGM on May 9 in Grand Falls-Windsor Adventure Central Newfoundland handed out its annual Bergy Awards and elected new board members.
Designed to honour tourism leaders in central Newfoundland, four entities from around the region were recognized for the work they've done in their respective fields.
Hare Bay Adventures won Experience of the Year, while the Town of Gander was named the Municipalities Tourism Champion of the Year award winner.
The Accommodator of the Year went to Indian Falls Chalets in Springdale and Debourah Bourden was named Tourism Ambassador of the Year.
Meanwhile, there was plenty of interest for the five available seats. In all, there are four new people on the 12 person board.
They are Michelle Rowsell (Indian River Chalets), Kim Thompson (Exploits River, Environment Resources Management Association), Mike McDonald (618 Enterainment) and Duane Collins (Hare Bay Adventures).
Colleen Lambert of the Miawpukek First Nation retained her set.
