Bell Let’s Talk Day brings in nearly $7-million for mental health

Social media was jammed with Canadians supporting Bell Let’s Talk Day on Wednesday Jan. 31.

According to a news release from the company, a new record was set with 138,383,995 messages, five per cent higher than last year.

It means Bell will donate another $6,919,199.75 in support of mental health, bringing its total commitment to $93,423,628.80 so far.

Bell Let's Talk Day aims to help end the stigma around mental health and let those who struggle know they're not alone.

During the day, the company donates five cents per use of a variety of social media engagements, such as tweets with the #BellLetsTalk hashtag, in addition to texts, mobile calls and long distance calls by Bell customers.
