ST. JOHN’S, NL – A 22-year-old man has been charged with making and possessing child pornography.
Members of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of Newfoundland and Labrador Internet Child Exploitation (CFSEU-NL) team, assisted by the RCMP detachment in Gander, arrested the man on Saturday, Nov. 25.
According to a CFSEU-NL news release, the investigation started in September of this year.
The man, whose name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim(s), has also been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, sexual exploitation, and voyeurism.
The investigation is continuing with support from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s (RNC) child abuse sexual assault unit.
The man appeared at provincial court in St. John’s today and will have a bail hearing on Wednesday.
