Choices for Youth (CFY) has released a report that it says will help expand the organization’s programming outside of St. John’s into rural areas of the province.
The report, dubbed “We Are Ready,” was compiled as a result of province-wide consultations during which the organization’s staff met with young people, community agencies, governments and businesses in every region of the province.
“We hope the results of this report will make a difference,” Joshua Smee, CFY’s provincial expansion coordinator said in a news release Thursday, Jan. 25.
“People reading it will see just how many resources and opportunities are available to support a major shift in how we approach some very difficult problems. We also hope they’ll learn something new about their own region and how it fits into the broader provincial picture.”
CFY, a non-profit, charitable, community-based agency that provides housing and lifestyle development supports to youth, will be presenting the report’s results across the province, gathering feedback, and making plans for programs and initiatives that fit with community priorities.
