GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, NL – It’ll be all business at College of the North Atlantic’s (CNA) Grand Falls-Windsor campus for the next three days.

CNA students and coaches from around the province, along with a group from the college’s Qatar campus, are gathering for the 12th annual Business Case Competition.

Twelve teams will be competing against each other in the event, which opens with a potluck meet and greet on today.

Two days of problem-solving scenarios will follow whereby each team will be presented with four business cases. The teams will come up with solutions and later present them to a panel of judges. Those who successfully complete the first three scenarios advance to the final round.

Stephen Warren, CNA’s dean of the School of Business and Information Technology, says the Business Case Compeition is one of many elite events throughout the year to test students and prepare them for their future careers.

For Warren, it will be his first time experiencing the event.

“This competition is open to everyone, and not just business students,” he pointed out in a news release.

“It aligns perfectly with what our programs have to offer through traditional learning environments, and then applying them in real world settings.”

The competition ends with a closing dinner and awards banquet at the Mt. Peyton Hotel Saturday evening.
