A 57-year-old man from Corner Brook spent the night jail after allegedly drunkenly assaulting a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officer Tuesday night in the Mount Bernard Ave. area.
The man was also in breach of a probation order.
The RNC says he was held overnight and "will be released to appear in Court at a later date when sober."
The officer was not injured in the assault.
