While it encourages utilization of the full animal when harvested, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans says it has no issues with a mess of seal flipper tips that were apparently discarded on a beach in the Curling area of Corner Brook recently.
The agency said any illegal dumping would fall under either municipal or provincial jurisdiction.
The area in question, shown here, also seems to be a location where people discard remnant of big game catches on occasion.
The City of Corner Brook said it has no complaints of dumping at this particular site, which has an old concrete slipway used to launch watercraft.
