GANDER, N.L. — A man arrested by police for impaired driving in Gander on Sunday, March 24 was escorted back to the RCMP detachment where he registered a blood alcohol level almost four and a half times over the legal limit.
According to a RCMP release, the Gander RCMP received a report of an intoxicated customer leaving the liquor store after being refused service and driving off in a vehicle at around 6 p.m.
A description of the man and his vehicle was provided to police.
The man, a 44-year-old resident of Gander, had his vehicle impounded and licence suspended.
He was released from custody and will appear in court in in May.
