A total of 3,678 out of 6,662 eligible voters– 55.2 per cent – cast a vote during Gander’s municipal election on Sept. 26. In the 2013 election, out 7,209 eligible voters, 3,161 people marked a ballot, making up 43.84 per cent of the vote.
The vote was carried out of 15 polls – 13 residential, one mobile and the advance poll.
Out of 14 candidates in the running, the democratic process chose Percy Farwell to be mayor. Tara Pollett, Gina Brown, Robert Anstey, Oswald Fudge, Pat Woodford and Brian Dove will be councillors.
