CENTRAL NEWFOUNDLAND – Obstetrical labour and delivery services are being temporarily diverted from Gander to Grand Falls-Windsor from Jan. 15-26.
Perinatal clinic referrals from family physicians will continue to be received by the Women’s Health Network (WHN).
Expectant moms do not need to call to reschedule their perinatal clinic appointments, and they do not need new referrals from their family physicians. They will be contacted if there are any changes to their perinatal clinic appointment details.
If you feel you may be in labour and your intended place of delivery is the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander, you should head to the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor.
If you feel that delivery may happen quickly, go to the nearest emergency department for assessment.
