The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor is holding a byelection to fill an empty spot on its town council and there are a number of candidates vying for the position,

A total of nine people from the community are hoping to join the six already holding council seats when voters head to the polls on Sept. 17. 

The candidates are:

• Billy Loveless;

• Chad Budgell;

• Danielle Lynch-Lyver;

• Dave Canning;

• David Oxford;

• Holly Dwyer;

• Kathy Oake;

• Lori Hennessey; and 

• Terry O'Halligan

The advance poll is scheduled for Sept. 7 and is being held at the Grand Falls-Windsor Frie Department from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

On voting day, residents will have from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to cast their votes at one of the following locations:  Royal Canadian Legion, Queen Street United Church, Church Road Seniors Recreation Centre, Edwards Place Windsor Pentecostal, King Street St. Joseph·s Parish Centre and Station Road.
