Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP arrest two men in relation to armed robberies

Police believe a third suspect is at large

GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. — Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP District General Investigation Section has made two arrests in relation to armed robberies.

In a news release issued on Wednesday, Sept. 25, police say the robberies occurred on the evening of Sept. 22, at Bride’s Snack Bar on Lincoln Street and the Kwik Mart on Bond Street.

The release states two search warrants were executed at two separate residences in Bishop’s Falls and in Grand Falls-Windsor, resulting in the seizure of several pieces of key evidence, including weapons believed to have been used in the robberies.

The get-a-way vehicle was also seized.

Police now believe that both robberies are connected.

The two men arrested will face one count of robbery each and will appear in Provincial Court in Grand Falls-Windsor today, September 25, 2019.

According to RCMP, one suspect remains at large. Police are looking for 27 year-old Ian Williams of Bishop’s Falls and are requesting the assistance of the general public in locating him.

He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
