We have some exciting news to share! After many years of running multiple websites (TheLabradorVoice.ca, NorthernPen.ca, TheWesternStar.com, TheCentralVoice.ca, ThePacket.ca, SouthernGazette.ca, CbnCompass.ca, GulfNews.ca), we’re moving to a single digital home for all Newfoundland and Labrador community content. On Dec. 11, all these sites will move to their respective communities on SaltWire.com.
This is great news for our newsroom team. As residents, we are proud of our work and the communities we call home. This move is important to us. Rather than spending our time updating eight websites, we’ll be able to find and tell even more of the local stories that matter to our readers.
Not to worry, the associated print publications will remain unchanged. SaltWire.com will become the single, streamlined digital counterpart for these local publications. We know the print publications and our readers have experienced a lot of change over the years, and we appreciate your patience as we work towards a sustainable model for local news.
We’re committed to making this change as easy for you as possible. On Dec. 11, the website URLs you are used to will automatically redirect to their respective community section on SaltWire.com. As an example, TheLabradorVoice.ca will now redirect readers to the Labrador section of SaltWire.com.
