A 44-year-old man who appeared to be attempting to flee the scene on foot of a single vehicle accident on the Trans-Canada Highway in Terra Nova National Park was arrested and taken into custody yesterday evening, Oct. 22.
He allegedly overturned the car into a ditch while driving impaired.
While in custody, the man allegedly refused to provide breath samples, allegedly uttered threats to police and allegedly assaulted one officer.
The man was to appear in court today to answer to charges of refusal to provide a breath sample, uttering threats, assaulting an officer, and resisting arrest.
