Police search for Lewisporte gas-and-dash culprit

LEWISPORTE, N.L. — RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in finding the man believed to be responsible for a gas and dash at the Orange Store on Main Street last month.

In the afternoon of Sept. 18, officers responded to a complaint of a man who pumped $107.06 of diesel and left without paying.

They were able to obtain surveillance video from the businessj.

The vehicle is described as a newer model white dodge truck with a camper in the box. The licence plate was not visible.

Officers patrolled the area, but were unable to locate the truck or man.

The investigation is continuing.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the vehicle or can identify the man in the stills of the surveillance video is asked to contact Lewisporte RCMP at 709-535-8637.
