Things are looking better in the last six months for Premier Dwight Ball and his Liberal Party, according to Corporate Research Associates (CRA).
An opinion poll taken from Nov. 2-30 shows that the Liberals have 44 per cent support from voters, up from 40 per cent in August. PC Party support remained the same at 33 per cent.
The Liberal gain was the New Democratic Party’s loss, as that party slipped to 19 per cent public support, down from 24 per cent in August.
Premier Dwight Ball and PC Leader Paul Davis are at a dead heat when it comes to individual support. Both leaders see 31 per cent preference for premier. Ball’s support rose from 23 per cent in August, while Davis’s rose from 29 per cent.
NDP interim Leader Lorraine Michael has 19 per cent support to sit at the eighth floor, a one per cent increase from Earle McCurdy’s support in August. McCurdy resigned as leader in September.
Ball’s personal approval rating has improved, but not by much. Three per cent of respondents are completely satisfied with his government, with 30 per cent mostly satisfied, up from 27 per cent in August.
On the other side, 38 per cent of respondents are mostly dissatisfied with the premier, which remained the same from August. Some 25 per cent of respondents are completely dissatisfied, up one per cent from August.
The overall margin of error is plus or minus 3.5 per cent, based on 800 respondents to CRA’s poll.
