HARE BAY, N.L. — A 24-year-old man from Brookfield was arrested on Nov.2 for allegedly driving while impaired and speeding in Hare Bay.
Glovertown RCMP said at approximately 6:40 p.m. they were on patrol in Hare Bay and observed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and suspected the driver was impaired by alcohol. RCMP said the man provided a roadside breath sample that resulted in a failure.
According to RCMP he was then arrested and taken back to the detachment where he provided breath samples above the legal limit. Police suspended his licence and seized and impounded his vehicle. He faces charges of impaired driving and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 4, 2020.
