Robyn Huxter of Steady Brook has been named this year’s winner of the Tommy Sexton Triple Threat Award, presented to a fourth–year theatre student at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University in memory of one of the founding members of the award-winning comedy troupe, CODCO.
The winner is deemed by the School of Fine Arts to be someone who excels at acting, singing and dancing. While the theatre program at Grenfell doesn’t usually do musicals, Huxter’s singing talent was showcased in the school’s production of Edward Bond's "The Sea."
She also effectively used her skills and interest in movement and dance while directing her fourth-year project, "Red" by Jordan Hall. Huxter, who will leave for Harlow Campus in England next week to complete her theatrical studies degree, received a cash award in addition to the prestigious plaque.
