BAY ROBERTS, N.L. – A man was found dead inside a burning storage container in Bay Roberts yesterday, and today police said they do not suspect criminality or a workplace injury.

The storage container was on fire at the Town of Bay Roberts municipal building.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Bay Roberts and the Office of the Fire Commissioner were investigating on scene yesterday.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is now examining the body, according to a RCMP media release issued Thursday.

The police investigation is continuing.

BAY ROBERTS, N.L. – Police say they do not suspect a criminal act or a workplace injury as the cause of death of a man found at the site of a storage container fire in Bay Roberts on Wednesday morning, Dec. 19.

The Bay Roberts RCMP provided the update in a news release on Thursday afternoon.

The storage container was located at the municipal garage in Bay Roberts. The RCMP were contacted about the fire at around 6 a.m.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is examining the body of the man.

A man was found dead at the site of a storage container fire this morning in Bay Roberts.

Bay Roberts Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are investigating with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

At around 6 a.m., police received a report of a fire in a storage container at the Bay Roberts Municipal Garage on Green’s Road.

Police attended the scene along with the local fire department, who put the fire out.

One man was found dead at the scene.

A fire scene investigator from the Office of the Fire Commissioner and Occupational Health and Safety officers from Service NL were also on scene.
