The War Amps is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and apparently someone is looking to take advantage of that fact.
The charity, which helps amputees, raising funds primarly through its Key tag and Address Label Service, has received reports of the public being contacted by phone and asked for a donation to mark the milestone.
The organization indicates this is a scam as it does not solicit by phone or door-to-door in any manner.
Anyone who receives such a call is asked to call the War Amps at 1-800-250-3030.
