ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The province’s Independent Appointments Commission has three new members and a new chair.
The House of Assembly passed a resolution to appoint the Marine Insitute’s Gerald Anderson, nurse practitioner turned restaurant franchisee Peggy Bartlett and The Honourable Edward Roberts, a former MHA and provincial Lieutenant Governor from 2002 to 2008.
All three will serve three-year terms.
They are replacing outgoing members the Honourable Clyde Wells, who served as chair, Shannie Duff and M. Zita Cobb.
Taking up Wells’ position is Earl Ludlow, who joined the IAC in March of this year.
The IAC is an independent body established by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to provide merit-based recommendations to approximately 30 “Tier One Entities.” These agencies, boards and commissions deliver important services including health care and K-12 and post-secondary education, and help manage our province’s natural resources.
