A 50-year-old Point Lance man is dead after a single-vehicle rollover on Route 100 between St. Bride’s and Branch Friday night.

Placentia Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) got the call shortly after 8 p.m. Friday night.

RCMP officers from both Placentia and Whitbourne responded.

The driver and lone occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP are investigating the cause of the accident, and ask anyone who may have witnessed it to call the Placentia detachment at 709-227-2000. To remain anonymous, anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
