GANDER, NL – Businesses in the Gander area with poppy donation cans are being asked to keep an extra close eye on them.
The Gander RCMP received a complaint from a representative of the Royal Canadian Legion on Tuesday who reported a donation can had been stolen from a convenience store in the town.
Police have released descriptions of the two suspects they are looking for in connection with the crime.
One is a woman with long, blonde hair, who is approximately 35 to 40 years old. At the time she was wearing a black scarf, black shirt, black pants, black jacket and was carrying a black purse.
The other is a clean-shaven man who in the same age range. He was wearing a black baseball hat, a black winter jacket that appeared to be down-filled, grey pants and black shoes.
