Multiculturalism Week kicks off in Newfoundland and Labrador this Sunday, March 18.
The provincial government has announced $23,000 funding for 19 projects that will take place throughout the week.
Increasing the number and reach of Multiculturalism Week events in the province is a commitment in The Way Forward on Immigration in Newfoundland and Labrador, a release from the Department of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour stated.
“Multiculturalism Week is a time to celebrate and cherish the rich diversity of cultures that share a home in Newfoundland and Labrador,” said Advanced Education, Skills and Labour Minister Al Hawkins.
“These projects create an opportunity for all of us to meet new people and experience new cultures. I encourage all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to participate in these events and celebrate our shared values.”
