CORNER BROOK, N.L. — Much of the west coast is under a snowfall warning today that extends from Burgeo and Ramea on through Bay St. George, Corner Brook, Deer Lake and the Humber Valley and Gros Morne.

Environment Canada says between 15-25 centimetres of snow can be expected with the snowfall lasting into the evening.

Flurries, snow squalls, and strong westerly winds are forecasted to develop again early Saturday along the west coast and persist through Saturday night.

The weather agency is advising motorists to adjust their driving to the changing road conditions as the rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult.

By the noon hour the roads around the city were getting covered in snow and slush which was creating some trouble for drivers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responding to a number of accidents.
