FORTEAU, N.L. — Locals came out to the Forteau town hall this morning to celebrate Canada's 152nd birthday.
Three military personnel, Trevor Flynn, Cleveland Saulter and Scott Suley, were home for the occasion and were given the honour of cutting the ceremonial Canada Day birthday cake.
At noon, locals barbecued hamburgers, hot dogs and, in typical Newfoundland and Labrador fashion, salt capelin.
Kids games, a bike parade and a baseball game were held later in the afternoon.
