BRIGUS, N.L. — A search-and-rescue helicopter was called in to help a hiker who needed medical attention in Brigus Tuesday.
According to a social media post from Avalon North Wolverines Search and Rescue, the hiker was on a local walking trail at the time. Their location was in rough terrain and prevented an Argo ATV from reaching them on the ground.
Joint Task Force Atlantic was contacted and sent a Cormorant helicopter to the scene. The individual was airlifted and transported to a hospital.
Broughton’s Ambulance and Bay Roberts RCMP also responded to the incident Tuesday.
