ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers' Association says its members in Labrador West have voted to accept the tentative collective agreement which was reached with the Provincial Government and School Boards. The teachers are a separate bargaining unit under the Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Act.
The NLTA’s Provincial Executive Council and the Labrador West Negotiating Team were both advocating that teachers accept the offer.
“As with the Provincial Agreement, we are pleased with the results of the vote and that the tentative agreement has been ratified,” NLTA president Dean Ingramstated in a release.
“It was felt that this was the best agreement that could be reached in this economic environment”.
The agreement will incorporate the same changes as the recently signed Provincial Collective Agreement.
