VICTORIA, N.L. — A tip from a person out for an early-evening stroll helped police arrest and charge a woman from Victoria for impaired driving.

According to a news release, Harbour Grace RCMP received a report from a pedestrian on a possible impaired driver on Sunday, June 16.

Police made a patrol and located the described vehicle on Neck Road in Victoria. A 28-year-old woman from Victoria was found to be impaired by alcohol.

She was arrested and provided breath samples that were more than twice the legal limit. Police seized her vehicle, which had expired registration and no insurance. She was issued a summary offence ticket for these violations and for not having a valid driver’s licence.

The woman was released from custody with a scheduled court date of July 24 to answer to charges of impaired driving.
