PLACENTIA, N.L. — A 47-year-old man was arrested and charged after leaving the scene of a two-car collision in Dunville, Placentia last month.
On Sept. 20, Placentia RCMP received the collision report and learned that one of the drivers had left the scene. There were no injuries.
Officers from Placentia and Whitbourne Detachments, with the assistance of police service dogs, patrolled the area searching for the vehicle, while additional officers from neighbouring detachments were also called in. The driver was located in his vehicle in a wooded area off Beaver Pond Road, near Dunville.
The man faces charges for leaving the scene of a collision, operating a vehicle with a beginner’s permit, and driving without due care and attention.
RCMP say the investigation is continuing.
