Les aliments Deli Chef is recalling sandwiches from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Products affected are ham, turkey, egg salad and chicken salad sandwiches.  Recalled products should be  returned to the store where they were purchased or disposed of safely.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make people sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. In severe cases of illness, people could die.

The recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency's (CFIA) surveillance activities following an investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak.

A complete list of affected products can be found on the CFIA website.
